The AWS Cloud Engineer will be a critical part of the IT team, reporting to the Senior Director of IT Operations. We are seeking an experienced Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud engineer who has expertise in the strategy, design, development, and implementation of small to large-scale projects in the cloud. The Engineer will have a extensive knowledge of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications and an ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and efficient. The Engineer will be creating a virtual environment in the cloud and will focus on Server Migrations and greenfield infrastructure buildouts in the public Cloud (AWS Cloud). We offer a flexible work environment. This means working up to 2 days a week remotely and the rest of the time in our Waltham, MA office.

Responsible for the implementation, 24×7 operational support, automation, availability, and performance management of the Client public cloud platform running on AWS.
Work alongside with multi-disciplined IT technical teams to collaborate and manage infrastructure, automation, and applications in the public cloud with a focus on AWS.
Contribute to the evaluation of application and infrastructure cloud readiness and work creating new server onto the cloud. This includes installing application to migrate to AWS; migrate data from onsite premises server to the cloud; support on-premises moves to a cloud service as well as the long-term management of the infrastructure. associated with these applications.
At the direction of cloud architects, and working closely with the cloud architects, to develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy AWS applications. Provide overall architecture/migration plans as well as directly building the Cloud assets.
Responsibilities include working with application, development, database, and security teams as well as with other IT teams to collaborate on implementing automation services across the infrastructure platforms. This includes working with IT teams such as application, development, database, and security teams.
Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.
Supporting and implementing infrastructure used for business mission critical applications on the AWS cloud.
Leverage Cloud Resource Manager to organize resources, deploy a Cloud VM from VHDs and Implement Cloud encryption technologies.
Perform Cloud migrations, manage updates and patches for Cloud VMs, assist in defining backup solutions, data replication and configuring S3 buckets.

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in In project experience designing and delivering cloud solutions on an enterprise scale. Experience providing cloud solutions, including hybrid and multi-cloud, assessment and proof of concept activities, lift and-shift migrations, and upgrades.
Strong and broad foundational IT skillset including supporting AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Azure AD, and server configurations (including networking, storage, and security principals.
Strong understanding and working knowledge with critical IT services such as Active Directory/Azure Active Directory, DNS, VMWare, Saas, etc.
Preferred certifications in Cloud Fundamentals for AWS, Cloud Architect Technologies for AWS, Cloud Administrator experience for AWS.
Strong customer facing communication.
Creative and excellent at problem solving.
Bachelor’s degree preferred in computer science or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Will accept relevant experience in lieu of degree
