The 2GW Operations division is currently being set up in order to optimally prepare for the operational phase of the Grid Connection Systems, both on- and offshore in the Dutch sector of the North Sea and to contribute operational experience during the construction phase.
As an Operations Engineer, you actively support the development of the department and establish the necessary concepts and processes together with your colleagues and the Grid Connection Managers to prepare for the operational phase of the to be build 2GW Grid Connection Systems in the coming years. Upon completion of the commissioning and handover you will follow the facilities into operation and take part in the safe, efficient and effective management of operations and maintenance of a (cluster of) Grid Connection System(s).
In preparation for the operational phase, you ensure that operational requirements are taken into account and safeguard that existing maintenance strategies can be applied or adapted as required to ensure the long-term availability and technical integrity of the facilities. You will take on an entire subject area independently and develop solutions in line with the strategic direction of the department, in coordination with other departments that have a stake in the projects in the wider TenneT organisation.
In consultation with the managers, you develop concepts for e.g. the training, development and onboarding of new staff or are discussing strategies for sourcing and procurement. You will be responsible as well for the implementation process of chosen strategies or concepts. You understand the value of asset data and documentation to operations, so you ensure that it is maintained in the right systems to enable safe and efficient maintenance.
You provide ideas for the development of new standardisation options, quality improvements or process optimisations and substantiate these to bring forward to (sr.) management. Furthermore, you are capturing and reviewing lessons learned and actively contribute to ensure continuous improvement of our Operational Readiness Framework.

Your profile and background
You are an intrinsically motivated personality who appreciates working in a dynamic, diverse and cross-border team. As a fast learning team player, you contribute to an exceptional team cohesion and demonstrate strong coordination and planning skills.
You have a degree in engineering in the fields of marine technology, mechanical engineering, electrical or civil engineering etc. Alternatively, you have a comparable educational qualification and relevant professional experience.
In addition, you have experience in the (renewable) energy and technology sector, preferably in the field of offshore projects and/or field operations & maintenance
You have a broad technical background and enjoy working in a generalist way. At the same time, you are keen to get involved in details as and when required.
You are willing to work across locations and countries. Occasional travel is part of your everyday professional life and you have a class B driving licence. Depending on the project situation, the average travel time could be up to approx. 25% of the working time in support of the construction projects in the yards across the world.
You have good verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
As this position involves working in an offshore environment, medical suitability for potential offshore assignments according to AWMF standards as well as fitness for working at heights is required and will be assessed by our company doctor.
