The Field Service Engineer is responsible for ensuring new integrated systems designs and products can be understood, installed and supported by the Service teams flawlessly. This includes understanding new system designs, documenting new service install and maintenance procedures, and providing field service training and support for all First of a Kind integrated Systems at Intel. Key areas of focus are Safety, Quality and Customer satisfaction.
Supports installation and commissioning activities of new Edwards products and designs in line with Edwards global standards, while ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
Operates and sets up product software and monitoring type products, examples being, but not limited to EdCentra, Synergis and tool communication software/interface.
Provides advanced faultfinding and troubleshooting support to their customers targeting to resolve or escalate issues within a timeframe which meets contractual commitments, and customer expectations.
Ensures that all field service activities are conducted within the boundaries of Edwards health and safety policies. Adheres to and promotes risk control elements covering all relevant aspects of the field service role.
Ensures that while working at the customer site, all customer directed policies and rules are adhered to completely.
Understands Edwards products such as but not limited to all current variants of Edwards dry vacuum pumps along with all auxiliary and ancillary subsystems, abatement units, frames/integrated SynErgis systems as specified by the customer.
Supports the development and delivery of product training using global training packages and an understanding of new system design documentation, ensuring minimum standards are met, and recorded as part of a formal certification process.
Provides factual reports to the team leader or technical support personnel to enable informed decisions to be made on a course of action to resolve product issues.
Utilizes Edwards operating platforms (ie SAP) to accurately capture BOM/design, order and delivery related information as needed.
Develops relationships with key customers and acts as a primary feedback loop into the Edwards service sales and technical support groups to ensure all opportunities are captured by the appropriate lines of business.
Organizes and manages the incoming FOK tool schedule along with interface with the customer and factory to place new orders for additional equipment as customer expends manufacturing capability.
Understands and has experience in equipment installation and commissioning.
Attends planning meetings with customer installation team, gathers information, and communicates meeting topics and minutes to account teams for action.
Surveys all customer equipment and provides instantaneous lists of required parts to properly support the customer.
Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance; works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/ manager and other duties as assigned.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
o Formal qualification in a mechanical, electromechanical or an electronics discipline.
Relevant Previous experience
o Minimum 2-3 years field service experience in a relevant or related industry, ideally with a strong customer facing bias.
o Computer literate with strong experience in ms Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
o Manage and prioritize workload for customer requirements, orgnaizational awareness and alignment.
o Advanced troubleshooting capabilities.
o Strong written and verbal skills
o Provide out of normal hours support to customers if needed to meet customer schedules/deadlines
o Strong electro-mechanical aptitude.
o Ability to work independently.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. The employee will be expected to wear appropriate PPE as required for a particular work environment (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hard hat, vest, etc).
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within office building, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires frequent computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
This position requires occasional travel for 50-60% of the position; sometimes overnight or multiple days.
