We seek a highly motivated chemical or process engineer (m/f/d) for our pre-commercial demo project. You build and lead a team of engineers responsible for critical design and instrumentation decisions. Throughout the engineering phase, you will be responsible for the technical details and the seamless integration of the RWGS/Fischer-Tropsch module into the value chain, as well as setting all requirements for an ambitious scale-up. Join us in our vision to scale up and commercialize sustainable chemical technologies!
How you contribute to success:
Lead design and simulation of process and systems concepts for an RWGS/Fischer-Tropsch demo module.
Own the technical details for the RWGS/Fischer-Tropsch demo module: Manage the design process with engineering partners, coordinate with technology providers, and resolve design and construction issues.
Contribute to and revise reactor and process design drafts for RWGS and Fischer-Tropsch systems and all interfaces.
Specify and select instrumentation according to guidelines and standards: Process controls, sensors, analytical procedures, etc.
Lead safety studies (PHR, HAZOP, RIEs, etc.) and implement safety, health, and environment requirements.
Evaluate and implement process improvements in cooperation with R&D teams.
Actively participate in the hiring and development of team members.
You are the most qualified person to determine if this role suits you to excel. We strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don’t meet 100% of the requirements.
Your educational background lies in chemical engineering, process engineering, chemical reaction technology, or a related field.
You have over 5 years of hands-on experience as a chemical or process engineer.
You have experience with pilot and demonstration plant engineering, instrumentation and associated control systems selection, and scale-up procedures of chemical reactors.
You are experienced in performing safety and risk analysis and know the associated standards and procedures.
You have analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to improve existing concepts.
Experience in hydrocarbon-based technologies, high-temperature processes, and/or (dynamic) process simulation is a strong plus.
You have experience in leading and building a team.
You like to work independently and are highly motivated to contribute to Spark’s growth and success.
You are fluent in English (German is a plus).
What we offer:
Competitive compensation package for full-time employees, incl. stock options, your preferred working equipment, and an individual educational budget.
The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the future of our planet by contributing to the development of cutting-edge climate tech solutions.
Ongoing professional development and training opportunities to support your career growth and help you stay at the forefront of your field.
A dynamic, supportive, and collaborative work environment that fosters innovation, creativity, and personal growth.
A diverse and inclusive culture that values all team members’ unique perspectives and experiences.
