Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult is recruiting a PRINCIPAL ENGINEER – MOORING AND ANCHORING SYSTEMS, which can be based anywhere in the UK and feeds into the work we’re doing at Glasgow and Aberdeen. The successful candidate will lead the design, analysis and installation of dynamic cable systems for floating wind projects.
The role will collaborate with clients, vendors and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of high quality projects.
What will I do?
Lead the design and analysis of Mooring and Anchoring systems for floating wind projects
Develop and implement design and installation procedures for Mooring and Anchoring systems
Lead technical studies, design reviews and risk assessments
Provide technical expertise and guidance to other engineers and team members
Manage project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely delivery of high quality deliverables
Stay up-to-date with industry developments and trends relating to Mooring and Anchoring systems for floating wind projects
What are we looking for?
Engineering degree or equivalent experience
Extensive experience in design, analysis and installation of Mooring and Anchoring systems for offshore wind projects
Extensive knowledge and experience in Mooring and Anchoring systems, including application in a commercial context
Experience of technology development and qualification activities, including application of standards, industry guidance and other relevant guidance as part of this process
Experience with relevant software, e.g. OrcaFlex
Excellent project management, communication, analysis and problem-solving skills
Experience working with clients and other stakeholders
