This position is for a Sr. Product Engineer within the design engineering department of the Medium Power business unit. The position will be located at the Danfoss Reynosa factory location. The position entails regular interfacing with the Danfoss production facility in Reynosa, as well as with a cross-functional team to drive improvements in product design, cost, and quality. The role also includes representing the engineering function in reviewing feasibility of requests for changes, new configurations and new features on the Medium Power products produced in locations around the globe.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
Initiate and execute project plans, which include the scheduled actions and the resources required to meet the project objectives. Examples include qualifying new suppliers or processes to reduce cost, robustness projects to enhance the quality or life of the product through design improvements, and development and launch of new features for existing products.
Perform and document design calculations and verify all necessary tolerance stack ups for new designs and design revisions.
Conduct product design reviews and follow through on recommended changes.
Develop verification plans using engineering processes. Execute tests and analyze engineering data. Write effective test requests. Analyze results and clearly summarize the findings in technical reports. Present results to the organization as well as to customers in support of engineering projects.
Maintain product design control, initiate, and follow through on engineering changes, and verify all documentation of new designs or design changes is complete.
Resolve product performance issues through team-oriented problem solving and document according to the 8D process for root cause.
Provide technical support to other functional areas. Interface with internal organizations such as sales, manufacturing, marketing, service, quality and purchasing, as well as external customers and suppliers.
Stay up to date regarding the field of engineering and technology relative to Danfoss products.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering field. Experience in either hydraulics industry, automotive industry, or mobile equipment industry.
Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic systems and the respective components.
General understanding of manufacturing processes as it relates to machining and Design for Manufacturability.
Solid hands-on mechanical skills and possess strong troubleshooting; demonstrate technical background and work experiences
Experience working with model-based design tools such as Matlab/Simulink/CAD.
Experience working collaboratively with customers, both internal and external, to understand requirements and/or troubleshoot application and product issues
Organize and prioritize work assignments to complete assignments/tasks on time.
Ability to apply creative approaches and ideas to solve problems maximizing effective use of appropriate resources.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with an interest in working across organizational lines
Ability to develop a thorough technical knowledge of the product line that includes product design, test and evaluation, understanding the manufacturing methods and processes (in-house and/or subcontracted) and how they impact product performance and life.
