The ICP division of the H&MV Engineering are currently seeking an established tendering engineer for projects up to 11kV with a view to further extend into the 33kV market.
The Tendering Engineer (ICP), you will play a crucial role in securing new projects and driving the growth of our business in the electrical contracting industry. You will be responsible for managing the tendering process, preparing accurate and competitive bids, and collaborating with various stakeholders across the business to ensure successful project execution.
Lead the tendering process for new projects within the 11kV-33kV sector, in line with company guidelines and standards.
Ensure that the sales team are adequately supported with any technical queries and that tenders are prepared in a timely and professional manner.
Evaluate customer requirements to ensure that the company is able to satisfy customer needs in terms of both service/product and pricing for tenders
Overall responsibility to ensure that initiated projects meet company requirements in terms of cost, lead time and terms and conditions.
Overall responsibility to ensure that tenders meet company commercial guidelines and have the necessary sign off in accordance with the delegation of authority guidelines.
Review and analyse project requirements, technical specifications, and scope of work to develop comprehensive and competitive bids.
Liaison with DNOs across the country for connection offers inclusive of the application process.
Liaison with numerous iDNOs to gain asset value quotations and close out any technical queries as required.
Creation of tender drawings inclusive of cable route plans and single line diagrams inline with DNO and iDNO G81 documentation whilst meeting customer requirements.
Assessment and undertaking of cable sizing studies using WinDebut software when required.
Liaison with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather essential material charges, work packages and negotiate terms.
Creation of Bill of Quantities based upon tendered design and scope of works to formulate a project cost.
Creation of final proposal letter highting H&MV terms and conditions and work package the tender is based upon.
Prepare and submit tender documents to the sales representative for the scheme, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to deadlines.
Manage tender clarifications and respond to inquiries from clients professionally and promptly.
Lead client facing mid-tender and post-tender clarification meetings.
Carry out occasional site visits to asses civils scope of works and meet clients as required.
Coordinate with the project management and electrical design teams to provide handover documentation and information for successful projects.
HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not essential.
Proven experience in tendering and bidding processes within the electrical contracting industry, with a focus on 11kV projects and ICP services.
Proven experience in designing 11kV projects to DNO and IDNO requirements.
Knowledge of substation design, build, and grid connections for electricity distribution.
Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and standards in the UK electrical industry such as G81 documentation.
Strong analytical skills to evaluate project requirements, costs, and risks effectively.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
