Who are you?
Engineer, Master or PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering.
Good knowledge of fluid characterization and analytical techniques.
A good knowledge of petroleum additives chemistry is a plus for this position.
You have at least 10 years of experience in the energy industry, including at least 5 years in the field of Process /Flow Assurance / Physical chemistry.
What you will do
Characterize fluids with laboratory support.
Anticipate impacts on process integrity, availability and energy efficiency.
Recommend optimized design schemes for chemical injections with respect to physicochemical and Flow Assurance risks.
Prepare specifications for laboratory tests (analyses and pilots) to be performed as part of the studies.
Act as a focal point for the assets (operated and non-operated), on subjects related to physico-chemistry.
Carry out ad hoc assistance missions or reviews in the subsidiaries.
Propose and supervise internal or external research projects (JIP) and represent the Company at technical meetings of these projects.
Participate in the industrialization strategy of technical solutions. Patent innovations.
Promote internally and externally the know-how in the field of the specialty (seminars, technical validation committees).
Challenge suppliers and stakeholders in an advisory capacity.
To succeed in adding electricity and renewable energies, TotalEnergies created a new entity, OneTech, which combines all the corporate departments related to technical issues or R&D at our different segments (Exploration & Production, Refining & Chemical, Marketing & Services and Gas, Renewables & Power). With a 3,400-strong workforce, OneTech will be split into three hubs: an Industrial Hub supporting the Company’s expansion in gas, renewables, electricity and carbon emissions reduction, a Research & Development Hub will pool all of TotalEnergies’ research activities to anticipate the Company’s transformation, by giving priority to the low-carbon mix and a Support Hub.
By integrating all the Company’s technical and R&D expertise in a single entity, One Tech becomes one of the pillars of TotalEnergies’ transformation into a multi energy company.
About the role
Physical chemistry plays a central role in TotalEnergies’ activities as it adopts a multi-energy strategy.
Emerging processes, such as biomass exploitation or CO2 sequestration, require specific and innovative solutions to address new fluid management issues.
Similarly, current processes require the implementation of optimized solutions to improve the performance of existing assets, reduce development and operating costs, improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in a “responsible” approach.
Located in Pau (CSTJF), you will be part of the Production Fluids and Flow Assurance department composed of specialists in fluid treatment/physical chemistry and water treatment.
You will work with internal or external laboratories to carry out development studies and technical assistance to sites in operation. You will interact directly with the subsidiaries, sites, Architects, Process and Trading & Shipping teams.
You will be responsible for supporting existing assets (operated and non-operated) and new projects on fluid physics issues, from reservoir to refinery and for emerging processes.
You will contribute to the diversification of activities towards new energies (hydrogen, CO2 sequestration, biomass…).
