Senior Consultant – Wind Turbine SCADA and Control Systems – Offshore Wind Advisory

As our new Senior Consultant, you will be part of our global Wind Turbine Competence group within our Offshore Wind Advisory team. You will take on a key role as subject matter expert shaping and enhancing our service deliverables. Our assignments are of a diverse nature with both well-known and new market players, joint ventures and investment funds, and cover a broad scope of services as well as potential combination with other technologies, such as Power-to-X, where we would make use of the wider Ramboll expertise.

Your tasks and responsibilities

As part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will take on diverse tasks and responsibilities in international projects of varied complexity and scale, such as:

• Provide strategic advice in IT and OT areas within the wind turbine scope, covering but not limited to supporting our clients in shaping winning strategies for wind farm control and management
• Take the role of SCADA Manager for the wind turbine scope, within our Owner’s Engineer service delivery, with responsibility over package interfaces, programme, risk and change management process, managing and supporting a multidisciplinary project team
• Lead the technical preparation, coordination, and management of the Wind Turbine scope tendering processes in collaboration with external stakeholders and our clients, including review of offers and their subsequent technical evaluation
• Lead the definition for the wind turbine scope supporting our clients on identifying the most suitable technical concept as per industry best practice, corresponding site conditions, local market conditions (e.g., localization requirements) and risk appetite
• Deliver technical due diligence assignments supporting projects taking responsibility over the wind turbine scope
• Support standardisation processes and initiatives across the Wind Advisory team aiming at developing standard and modular technical requirements for the contracting of the wind turbine scope in international projects

Your qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; a master’s degree or other advanced degree is preferred
• A minimum of 4-10 years of relevant professional experience in wind farm control engineering and management
• Extensive experience in wind project development, execution and / or operation within a project developer organisation or in an Owner’s Engineer role within the relevant field
• Profound industry knowledge and an understanding of design and engineering, project economics, interfaces, risks and commercial aspects of offshore wind farm development
• Experience in negotiating contracts would be beneficial
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation associated to offshore construction projects
• Proven track record, industry reputation and network
• High level of proficiency in written and spoken English; additional languages are beneficial
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment
• Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and make independent decisions that promote / advance company goals and objectives
• Strong writing and communication skills with an eye for analytical and persuasive presentations
• Track record of presenting technical options to clients, ideally including evaluation of options on cost basis
