You will join our Project Management department

You will be part of our project management community delivering a wide range of construction projects in the UK for both the public and private sectors. Our PM team is linked into the Buildings Division and work across a variety of projects and sectors from large commercial and residential developments, boutique hotels and high-end retail stores to Infrastructure Projects. The team’s culture is one of inclusion, collaboration and enjoyment, where we warmly welcome new team members into our fold.

The work is stimulating and involves dealing with a broad range of stakeholders, consequently applicants should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and enjoy forming close and effective working relationships. For this role there will be a requirement for travel of a short duration, within the UK.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Assist Structures and MEP teams – Chester/Manchester/Leeds – regular travel between offices.
• Monitor and support the management of the portfolio of Buildings projects in Ramboll North.
• Lead project planning workshops at project inception and stage gateways.
• Produce (and support others to produce) work breakdown structures and design programmes.
• Use MS Project to create and maintain programmes, monitor progress and report any critical issues in real time.
• Produce and manage design and project risk registers.
• Lead collaboration internally with technical teams & project managers.
• Help develop comprehensive scope-of-work and contract document deliverables.
• Actively and effectively manage change control.
• Participate in design meetings to optimise design and minimise futile work.
• Report on project portfolio health on a monthly basis to heads of Building Structures and MEP.
• Provide mentoring to help develop the project management skills of others within the team.

• Minimum HNC/HND in a Building/Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Track record demonstrating experience of the design and construction process.
• Experience of managing commercial processes on projects.
• A basic understanding of procurement methods and contract administration requirements.

• Ability to write high quality reports and be able to interrogate financial information.
• Preferably a member or an associate member of an appropriate construction focused association or Institute (APM / ICE) etc. If not currently a member of such organisation, Ramboll will support you to work towards and achieve this qualification within a reasonable agreed timeframe.

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role are:

• You are a confident communicator and an excellent listener.
• You will have the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and then communicate across the project teams, often across geographical borders.
