Senior SCADA/DAS Engineer

THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior SCADA/DAS Engineer to support advanced technical solution review and operational support in Power Factors’ implementation and operation of renewable energy plants in the wind and solar market. As a senior team member, you will have the mandate to support internal training and escalation support to ensure successful Customer partnership execution.

The Senior SCADA/DAS Engineer is a process and detail-oriented team member that leverages their industry experience to provide best practice solution support. Additionally, this role will work to identify integration issues between devices and supporting applications in the dataflow to the SaaS monitoring platform. Data connection topologies include simple DAS, multi-server SCADA integrations, enhanced networking traffic concepts, and third‑party data collection tools including scripted API calls.

This role involves some interaction and coordination with our prospective customers and Power Factors’ internal sales, product, development, and customer success teams globally. Primary communication channels will be within the Engineering Operations team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical review of customer data collection system for integration into the monitoring platform;
• Coordinates plant remediation support with Customer and third-party team members;
• Training sessions and collateral development for internal/external team members for team skills enhancement and understanding;
• Advanced trouble shooting of configurations for communication and data representation in the data collection;
• Customer engagement support, leading technical discussion and architecture review;
• Document/collateral generation;
• Support risk management from identification through the successful close out related to data collection;
• Support lessons learned management from identification through closed-loop-learning and improvement realization;
• Provide technical subject matter expertise for SCADA/DAS internally;
• Support Product considerations and user stories as a subject matter expert in data collection;

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in a technical field, e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering; Master’s degree is considered an asset
• Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in the SCADA/DAS discipline with experience in technical project management, process development, software configuration, and/or IoT/networking configuration
• Demonstrated PLC, RTU, HMI and SCADA design and programming skills
• Demonstrated network and data flow conceptualization
• Experience in third-party OEM applications for device configuration management
• Significant work experience using and configuring Web-based IoT, SaaS, and IPaaS data platforms, including DAS platforms, SCADA systems, enterprise databases and historians, OSIsoft PI, and other cloud platforms, e.g., Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
• Experience in technical writing and RFP responses
• Excellent, clear, concise written and oral communication skills
• Ability to interpret electrical and data collection related drawing sets and other supporting project documentation
