Senior Wind Energy Analyst
Local Unit & Position Description:
We offer:
DNV GL – Energy division is seeking a Senior Wind Energy Analyst to join our Project Development and Analytics team in Spain. This role is to enhance capabilities and increase resources of the Project Development and Analytics (PD&A) team, which is responsible to support developers from the prospection phase, development, and operation. Energy production assessments, both pre construction and operational, are the main service we provide to developers, investors, operators or lenders.
Key tasks:
- Analyzing wind and other climatic data (30%)
- Inspecting sites and measurement equipment (5%)
- Elaborating maps and performing wind flow modeling (15%)
- Predicting wind farm energy production (15%)
- Writing technical reports and communicating results to clients (15%)
- Collaborating on the preparation of service proposals and follow up with clients as required (10%)
- Collaborating and briefing with colleagues worldwide (10%) on technical topics.
Position Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant Engineering, Atmospheric Science, or Mathematics field
- At least 2 years of experience in the wind industry
Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal)
Technical competencies:
- Experience in performing pre-construction energy production assessments
- Comprehensive understanding of wind flow principles
- Aptitude in the statistical analysis of data including relevant tools and software
- Proficiency with MS Office Word/Excel/Access
- Ability to use Excel spreadsheets and macros efficiently for analyses and reporting
- Strong overall computer skills and ability to learn multiple software tools, programming in R or Python is highly valued
- Understanding of wind energy industry measurement techniques and standards
- Thorough knowledge of various mapping tools and map formats
- Relation and knowledge with Spanish electricity market.
