Service Support Technician, Tactical Response
The Tactical Response Field Technician will report to the Field Support Manager, Supercharger and provide support for mobile charging infrastructure deployment throughout the US. This role involves supporting a fleet of mobile charging assets and strategic deployments throughout North America as well as supporting non-public facing Supercharger installations at Tesla facilities throughout the US. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter that can operate autonomously and make decisions under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Respond to requests for support on short notice and travel to strategic locations to support charging infrastructure deployments
- Work with the latest Tesla technology and provide troubleshooting support and feedback to engineering teams.
- Solve complex problems with minimal guidance
- Provide clear and concise communication to management
- Interact with customers and provide a pleasant customer experience
- Frequent domestic travel required
- Weekend, holiday and after-hours work required
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Solar PV systems, battery storage, or vehicle charging stations.
- Understanding of the NEC codes that relate to Commercial installations preferred
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E practices
- Familiar with grid-tied inverters
- Ability to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time
- Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines
- Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc.
- Proficient working with spreadsheets, word processing, and computer-based applications (e.g. time tracking, case management, etc.)
- Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, lift heavy objects and work on your feet for long periods of time
- Bending, stooping, crawling, in confined spaces, working in limited illuminated areas, working in dusty conditions are required
- Comfortable making decisions independently and handling emergency situations with a calm and measured manner
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable and safe driving record
- Pro-active attitude and able to provide effective feedback to engineering team
- Ability to work easily with cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and ability to follow directions is a must
- Hands on mentality, experience with DIY type projects a plus
