Sr. Renewable Energy & Sustainability Project Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Experience and knowledge of a variety of renewable energy, resiliency, and sustainability projects
• Knowledge of and experience with environmental regulations, compliance, and interfacing and negotiating with regulators.

• Ability to manage a team of staff supporting the PM’s workload and client requirements.
• Ability to lead the complex environmental permitting and design process for renewable energy projects, storm hardening and resiliency projects, and/or sustainability projects as well as other activities requiring the knowledge of standard engineering principles and techniques
• Ability to lead energy efficiency studies, renewable energy feasibility studies, and/or energy resiliency evaluations.

• Ability to plan and coordinate public outreach associated with public participation during the permitting process.

• Responsible for overseeing staff with the development of design computations, technical specifications and preparation of the contract documents using the standards established by the business practice.
• Knowledge of and/or experience with:

• Solar and/or Wind Development Projects
• Geothermal Energy Projects
• Waste Reduction and Circular Economy
• Project Certification Programs for Sustainability and Resilience such as ENVISION, SITES, Parksmart, PEER, LEED Inc, Green Roads, CEEQUAL, RELi, STARS, PACE and EcoDistricts
• Energy Star Programs
• Environmental Management Systems such as ISO 140001
• Article 10 Permitting or ORES Permitting or equivalent state programs

• Identifies, develops, and gathers technical resources necessary to complete assignments
• Responsible for maintaining company quality standards and assisting in the technical review of client deliverables
• Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
• Complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints
• Provides guidance to junior level technical staff members
• Assist or lead the technical scope proposal development

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, architecture, science, planning, engineering management or a related degree is required; Master’s Degree preferred
• PE or equivalent professional license preferred
• PMP Certification preferred
• Certifications such as (SMA) Sustainability Management Certified Professional (SMCP); IEHA – Environmental Sustainability Professional; Envision – Sustainability Professional, NABCEP PV Installation Profession Certification, Preferred
• Valid US driver’s license is required

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience required with energy conservation, water conservation, energy management, waste management, sustainability management, program management, or energy engineering; a minimum of 8 years of project management experience required
• Experience preparing proposals, project plans, extra work authorizations and project closeout documents for projects required
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in climate- and sustainability-related areas.
• Demonstrated experience in managing client relationships
• Experience understanding and interpreting client contract requirements
• Ability to track and oversee multiple projects required
• Experience utilizing problem-solving skills, exercising discretion, and making independent judgments required
• Experience managing project accounting processes to include project budgeting, forecasts and cash management required
• Experience in MS Office, AutoCAD, and energy simulation software preferred
• Experience in Microsoft Office suite required
• Knowledge of Deltek Vision preferred
• An articulate and persuasive communicator with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
• Knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera P6 preferred
• Ability to travel as needed required
