Technical Innovation Partner (d/f/m) Renewables (H2)

The Technical Innovation Team is looking for a “Technical Innovation Partner“. As TI Partner you will manage a portfolio of technical innovation projects. Whilst the role is not limited to any specific technology, the initial focus will be on H2 related projects, activities and overall coordination between the different departments within RWE RES and also with the RWE business units involved, esp. RWE Generation. This will also include executing a gap analysis and developing an according gap closing plan to kick start TI Projects in the area of H2.

Your tasks

• Support the Team Lead Technical Innovation in managing Innovation work in renewables technologies across the Renewables Business
• Work with team colleagues to develop a business and value focused TI strategy and plan for agreed topic areas, in close cooperation with experts and key stakeholders in the business. This include to coordinate with other business units and teams in RWE AG, in particular the H2 business within RWE Generation
• Portfolio management
  • Create and assess new project ideas against strategic objectives with experts and business colleagues, actively seeking to share best practices and exploit synergies across the whole RWE Group
  • Communicate proactively and effectively within RWE, actively promoting the profile of TI and manage key RWE stakeholders including key executives
  • Deliver agreed part of plan with regards to time, cost quality, HSSE, the extraction of maximum benefit from the results and to facilitate smooth business implementation
  • Manage internal and external project managers and other resources and ensure reporting and provide support for project managers, where appropriate
• Management of selected key Innovation Projects
• Contract negotiation and management, and close working with procurement and legal to structure contracts to ensure best value and learning for RWE.
• Management and promotion of IP and knowhow development and protection.
• Promote a positive culture of HSSE awareness and continuous improvement and learning

Your profile

• Successfully completed university degree in engineering, economics or natural sciences or comparable ideally with energy technology experience
• Several years of professional experience in innovation management as well as in project management and the steering of projects
• Experience in the area of Hydrogen production would be a plus
• Strong conceptual, analytical, and technical skills are essential
• Understanding and experience of successfully applying project management principles, processes and techniques essential
• Experience of building and motivating strong goal-focussed networks or project teams to deliver change
• Good interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills at senior levels with an ability to flex style depending on cultural differences
• Sound commercial judgement that is results oriented, open-minded and able to spot possibilities in uncertain and complex environments
• Strongly self-directing, working indecently and able to identify key priorities in new challenges and plan and prioritise work accordingly
